Welcome to La Veda Arrocería, an exceptional rice restaurant nestled in the vibrant streets of Alicante, Spain. Located at C. Gral. Lacy, 12, Local 11, this culinary gem specializes in crafting exquisite rice dishes that honor the traditional techniques of Spanish cooking while embracing modern flavors.
As you step into La Veda Arrocería, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that strikes the perfect balance between comfort and elegance. The charming décor and friendly staff create a relaxed environment, ideal for family gatherings, casual lunches, or special celebrations. Many guests have raved about their experiences here, such as Raquel Llorens, who shared, “The service was fantastic, and the food was delicious with perfect cooking.” This sentiment echoes the commitment of La Veda to deliver not just meals, but memorable dining experiences.
The star of the menu is undoubtedly their rice dishes, expertly prepared to highlight clarity of flavor and acidity. Enthusiasts of this Mediterranean staple will find satisfaction in dishes like the beautifully cooked arroces, uniquely flavored and tender, bringing delight in every bite. The socarrat—a perfectly caramelized crust at the bottom of the rice—receives accolades from visitors like M., who exclaimed they found their perfect arroz after a long search. For those seeking something different, the fried artichokes topped with ham and egg are a definite must-try, celebrated for their innovative flair and delectable combination of textures and flavors.
For families dining with children, La Veda Arrocería has got you covered—though not widely advertised, they accommodate younger palates with simple dishes such as pasta, ensuring that everyone leaves satisfied. Gerhard Gross highlights the restaurant's ability to draw in locals, a testament to its authenticity and reputation for home-cooked goodness. He recommends trying the daily menu, an affordable way to savor generous portions of quality home-cooked meals.
La Veda’s commitment to fresh, local ingredients shines through each dish, whether it's the robust jamón or the refreshing salmorejo, as noted by Aina Tolivia Rubio who was impressed by the quality and generosity of the servings. With a menu that adapts to local tastes while maintaining its core roots, every visit feels like a celebration of community and culinary tradition.
While some visitors have noted the language barrier—where English is not widely spoken—this only adds to the charm of the experience. As Aleksandra Belousova humorously pointed out, it encourages diners to sharpen their Spanish skills while fully immersing themselves in the local culture.
In summary, La Veda Arrocería offers an unforgettable journey into the heart of Spanish rice cuisine. From the exquisite taste of their food to the welcoming nature of the staff, every aspect of this restaurant is crafted to ensure you leave with a smile and wanting to return. So whether you're celebrating with colleagues, enjoying a family meal, or simply exploring the culinary delights of Alicante, make sure this arrocería is at the top of your list!

We really enjoyed this restaurant. We were a bit apprehensive about our little one due to the general lack of kids menu's in Spanish restaurants but although not advertised as such they tend to have a simple dish of pasta, which works as a kids menu. I mean who in their right mind would go to an arroceria and order pasta?

Have been looking for an authentic arroz with soccarat (I know we aren't in Valencia and it's not called a paella here), but really wanted a balanced arroz. At last, found one! Arroz was cooked to perfection with fresh ingredients and not too salty. Very interesting to eat it with aoili. Another special dish I would recommend is the fried artichoke with two fried eggs and jamon on top. There are more dishes we would like to try next time. Service was excellent! It is helpful if you make a reservation especially on a busy Sunday, or you can go as soon as they serve lunch at 1pm. Brush up some Spanish phrases as there is no English menu and waiters only speak Spanish, a true fabulous local experience. It seems that there were many repeat customers. Look forward to going back again soon!

If you are looking for great home style cooking, this is the place to go. Skip the traditional menu and go for the menu of the day. Lots of locals here, which is always a good sign. Friendly waiters and staff. The place filled up very fast and it was a Tuesday, which is also a good sign. Can't wait to go back.

Such a good place to try some rice! I enjoyed every bit of it. The only thing to be prepared for - no English menu nor service, so sharpen your Spanish skills.
